The current version requires 8 AA batteries, which is not good in my opinion.
In addition they are selling less for the same price.
The heating elements do work however.
It's not so much about having warm feet as it is about not having cold feet. Turning them up so my feet are truly warm feels odd, and slightly uncomfortable. It also affects the flex of my plastic boots. So I aim for neutrality: the "Goldilocks" temperature, not too warm, not cold, just right. The 4 temperature settings on these insoles make that possible. Once one understands the buttons, this can be set without even looking at the (very obvious) light display, which is handy.
I was happy to find that these have the right support for my sole: no other insole required.
- Quick to charge. Full foot heat (not just the forefoot). Excellent battery holder. Very clear settings. Nice padding underfoot. Can supply heat for 7 hours in really cold conditions. USB charging too. Best price for the quality.
- Batteries discharge fairly fast between uses. I have to charge them once a week all summer to maintain battery life.
