    The Details:

Who does this warranty cover? Our warranties apply only to items purchased directly from Gerbing or an authorized Gerbing dealer. Please save your receipt as the warranty only extends to the original purchaser. This warranty covers any generation of Gerbing, Gerbing's, Gerbing's Heated Clothing and Gyde branded products.

What does this warranty not cover? This warranty does not cover any damage caused by (1) normal wear and tear; (2) improper use; (3) failure to follow the product instructions; (4) modifications; (5) unauthorized repair; (6) external causes such as accidents, abuse, or other actions or events beyond our reasonable control; or (7) customer negligence. Shipping costs for all warranty claims are the responsibility of the customer.

What is the period of coverage? The heating elements in our products (Microwire) are covered for life. This warranty covers electrical plugs, connectors, solder joints, Gerbing temperature controllers, Gerbing electrical components of accessories, and all materials, sewing, and craftsmanship for one year from the date of purchase. Batteries and chargers, including Gerbing rechargeable Lithium/NIMH battery packs and chargers, are covered by this warranty for 90 days from the date of purchase. 12 Volt jacket liner

I write very few reviews but I thought I should share my thoughts on this product. I own a number of Gerbing products from heated gloves, heated jacket to heated liners. I own the earlier liner, the one with the inside red collar and am very pleased with that but the new one caught my interest. It arrived yesterday and today I took it out for a test ride. The weather was overcast, 35 - 37 degrees and dry roads. I wear a Joe Rocket 3 season jacket. The liner does start to warm up within seconds of plugging in ( I use a controller ). But it took about 10 miles of riding before all was at max heat. I was never cold but I did notice the difference after riding a while. The heated collar worked well and never too hot, the upper back was noticeably warm and the chest area seemed to vary a bit between very comfortable to not quite so hot. The arms...they are out in the cold wind no matter what fairing you have and my arms were very comfortably warm at all times. The older liner was more of a heated windbreaker, bulkier and with pockets, you could wear it as a separate jacket. The new liner is more focused as a heated liner, no pockets and far less bulky making it easier to fit under more different outer layers. This rolls up smaller and does it's job well. I don't ride year round but I try to ride most of the year. Sizing... I am 6' and weigh 200 with a small pot belly. I usually wear an XL but following the advice of others I bought this in size L. This size worked out just right, you want it a little snug but not tight. Check your sleeve length, you may want to order this in a size long. I bought this during the Christmas holiday so I got it for a decent price, money well spent. I haven't tried the different brands for comparison but I am satisfied and believe an all day ride in the 30s would be no problem.
    Pros
    • Rolls up smaller for packing away, plug in wire could be a bit longer.
    Cons
    • Check your sleeve length

    Gerbing Jacket Liner
    November 29, 2020
This is not my first Gerbing 12V Heated Jacket Liner. I have one that was purchased in 2004 that was used plenty. I purchased this new one, only because I wanted an updated one. I am happy I did, although my old one is still working like when it was new. The new one has more changes than I anticipated and I truly like it better than the older liner. I like the elastic cuffs, the elongated back, the micro wire heating elements, the lighter jacket liner and the missing wadd of wires and junction connectors found in the old one. After using the new liner, I am very happy with the way it heats and does the job. I just got back from a UTV ride in 28 degree weather and it performed flawlessly.
    Pros
    • All good !!
    Cons
    • No cons at all.

Runs big and long - very warm, easy to control heat!
    November 10, 2020
Run big and long, I wish I would have gone a size down. I normally wear an XL, but it's big on my. Neck size also runs large. First time I've ever had that! For this price point I would expect a few more features. Like being able to close the neck tight and put it tight at the belt line. Also, the cable connections are on the inside? Would be much better if they where on the out side!

Liner is very warm! even with the extra space. It does breath well! That was one of my worries, but it does well and breathing and blocking the wind!
    Pros
    • Warm, easy to control heat, breaths well, blocks the wind
    Cons
    • Run large, no neck closer, no way to bring the liner closer to your torso.

    pay extra for controler
    February 26, 2020
I finally got the chance to hook up the controller and get my motorcycle ready for it's first ride of the season yesterday, grant you it was only a thirty mile ride, BUT I do have to admit that once I got over the deal that we had to pay extra for a controler (I would "think" that a controler would be part of jacket) I found that this new jacket did heat up quite nicely... So I was happy again!
