Veskimo Circulatory Cooling Vest and 9 Quart Cooler Complete System
This Complete Personal Cooling System combines the lightweight, breathable Veskimo Personal Microclimate Cooling Vest to be worn under your normal clothing with the 9 Quart Hand-Carry Cooler that supplies ice chilled water to the Vest via a high efficiency pump.

Includes:

(1) Veskimo Vest

(1) 9 Quart Hand-Carry Cooler

(1) Standard Lithium-Ion Battery & Charger

The 9 Quart Hand-Carry Cooler measures 11" x 9" (viewed from above), is 13" tall to the top of the integral handle and holds twice as much ice and water as the Backpack.

It is ideally suited for use on a large motorcycle, in a car, or anywhere the user can be connected to a portable reservoir of ice chilled water.

The system can provide up to 8 hours of continuous cooling and includes everything you need to keep cool and comfortable while riding, driving, or participating in a wide variety of activities in hot and humid environments.

How to find your perfect fit It's important to get the right size vest so it fits you properly and stays in place during all your work and play activities. To determine your correct size, you need to make a measurement of your Torso Length. Do not use your T-shirt size as your primary guide in selecting your vest size. Measure from the boney or protruding bump on the top of your shoulder (the end of your clavicle, also known as the AC Joint) to the top of your pants at the center of your body, as shown in the figure below: Veskimo Sizing 1

Be sure to follow these instructions when making your Torso Length measurement: Have someone else measure you - Attempting to do this by yourself may cause significant errors in the result. Wear the type of pants or shorts that you plan to use with the vest, and wear them at the height that is "normal" for you. For example, you may wear work pants with a belt at a different height than sports shorts with an elastic waist band. Don't suck in your stomach; doing so may result in a Torso Length measurement that is too short, possibly causing you to order a vest that is too small for you. Use either a fabric (tailor's) tape measure or a piece of string that doesn't stretch. Don't use a metal tape measure; doing so may result in a Torso Length measurement that is too long, possibly causing you to order a vest that is too large for you. Take the measurement on both sides of your body to ensure that the location at the top of your pants is centered. If the two measurements are not equal, you may not be standing straight or measuring to the center of your body at the top of your pants. To correct this, either try again or average the two measurements. Don't wear anything thicker than a thin T-shirt when making this measurement. Wearing a thicker shirt may result in a Torso Length measurement that is too long, possibly causing you to order a vest that is too large for you. Now compare your measurement to the size chart below to determine your size. Veskimo Sizing 2

Q. How is the Vest supposed to fit and why is it so important to get the right size? A. The most important thing is to get the right length vest. The elastic straps on the sides provide a very large range of adjustment to accommodate almost anyone's chest & waist size. Please refer to the size chart above to verify that your measurements fit within the range of adjustment for the size vest you plan to order. If the vest you get is too small, the shirttails won't tuck far enough into your pants. When you raise your arms above your head, they may pull out a little more from your pants. If there is less than 2" of the shirttails tucked in, they could come out easily, allowing the vest to "ride up" higher on your abdomen. Keeping

The Veskimo Personal Cooling System provides the wearer with consistent, continuous relief from heat stress, even when worn under heavy protective clothing. It is the best choice for a wide variety of people who work and play outdoors, for whom no other practical and effective personal cooling solution exists. It's perfect for sports, racing, motorcycling, bicycling, construction and industrial uses, and can provide much needed relief for those with heat-intolerant health conditions.  No matter how hot and humid it is outside, you’ll be in your own personal "microclimate of COOL!"

NASA pioneered the use of garments employing circulating chilled liquid in the 1960's to keep astronauts cool during space walks. The design and construction of these systems are well documented. Systems of similar construction are currently in use by military personnel in aircraft and armored land vehicles. These systems are very expensive because they use compressor-based refrigeration units to chill the circulating liquid coolant. By substituting ordinary ice to chill the water, the cost and complexity of the system is greatly reduced, making Veskimo Personal Cooling Systems affordable, yet still truly effective.

Veskimo vests cool you down by pumping ice cooled water around plastic tubing sewn onto the vest.

There are 3 easy steps to creating your own customized Veskimo System:

  1. Choose the size of vest.
  2. Choose from the 9 Quart Hand Carry Cooler System or the truly mobile 4.4 Quart Hydration Back Pack System
  3. Select your power source/ sources; Lithium-Ion Rechargeable Battery, Quick Change AA Battery Pack or 12V Power Cable.

Alternatively order one of the complete Veskimo Systems.

Who are cooling vests for?

At The Warming Store we have cooling vests available for a range of activities and uses.

  • Construction workers, gardeners and anyone else who works outside during the summer
  • Military personnel
  • People suffering from medical conditions with heat sensitivity
  • Motorcyclists
  • Sportsmen and sportswomen
  • Emergency Services
  • Anyone who wants to enjoy the summer without being overwhelmed by heat

How do they work?

We have 3 styles of cooling vests which work in different ways to help you keep your cool.

Evaporative Cooling Vest

These use the natural effect of evaporation to cool you down.  When these vests are placed into water the specially made non-toxic  material absorbs hundreds of times its weight in water.  This stored water is then slowly released.  In hot areas this water will start to evaporate.  As it does it the heat from the wearer is transferred into the air helping to reduce your temperature.

  • Light weight.
  • Easy to use throughout the day.  If it dries out all you have to do is submerge in to water for hours more cooling.
  • No electricity is required making them perfect for people on the move.
  • The most affordable form of cooling vest.

Phase Changing Vests

These non-toxic vests have a large pocket front and back in which a refrigerated, frozen, water or air conditioned cooled pack can be inserted.  This flexible cooled pack will then help reduce the wearers’ temperature for up to 4 hours.  These inserts can be refrozen as and when necessary.  Each vest comes with one set of packs.  For all day cooling we suggest ordering extra packs which can be kept in a freezer or cooler until it is necessary to exchange them.

  • Hard wearing.
  • Works in high humidity.
  • Each cool pack can be reused.
  • Does not produce condensation.
  • Typically provides a cooler temperature than evaporative cooling vests.
