Outdoor Research ALTIHeat Lucent Heated Sensor Gloves

Gloves are tough and well made. Dexterity even after multiple wearings is limited. Fairly warm without heat. Heat is poorly distributed and even on high is inadequate for upstate NY winter. I will keep them but regret the purchase. They could have been much better.

Paying $300+ for heated gloves is a bit like jumping off the lip of a cornice and hoping for the best. At this point, I'm very happy with the product and the warmth is genuine. I have not yet worn the gloves in extreme cold (sub-zero), but in the range of 15-30F, the medium setting is comfortable and lasts a full afternoon of skiing. I haven't yet worn the gloves for a full battery cycle to assess actual time available in a cold day on cross country trails or hours of clearing snow. My mid-hand measured 9.25inches, so I am at the upper end of a Large, lower end of X-Large. I talked to the guys at the Warming Store, and I ordered the Large. The gloves new are understandably quite stiff , but the fingers were all just short of the pockets (so no excess of floppy tips), and over time, I think the gloves will soften and be a bit looser. Overall, the product is well made, beautifully packaged in a custom zip closed mesh bag, and the rechargeable batteries, charger, and all cables are really well made. I'll post a follow-up note on durability and longevity.

Haven’t used the gloves yet, however they seem to be well made and are a good fit for my hands. The numerous very positive reviews I’ve read, indicate that I will like them. Here’s hoping.

I have had my gloves for 2 seasons now and they are as good as they were the day I got them. I love how they keep my hands nice and toasty. Many times the highest setting is too warm. I Los you keep it on the 2nd setting when the temp is in the 20s. My only complaint is that the 3 color indicator showing you how hot they are set to is not that bright. On bright days you need to cover the indicator with your other glove to see what color it is set too.
