About HeatTrak

Heated Outdoor Snow Melting Stair Mat.

An outdoor heated stair mat is exactly what you need to start enjoying your snow days again. Use this wide outdoor heated floor mat to cover your stairways. This mat will melt snow at a rate of 2" (5 cm) per hour, accounting for even the heaviest storms. The water from the melted snow evaporates right off the mat. Put these mats to work at any time of day or night. Wake up to find your walkways clear of snow and ice without any effort on your part. No installation required, just lay them down and plug them in and these mats are designed to be left out all winter.

Heat Trak, LLC is the world's premier manufacturer of outdoor heated matting products. Founded in 2004, the company's products are an efficient and convenient way to eliminate snow and ice accumulation around the home or workplace. The company's products are sold in hardware and retail stores around the country.

Portable - No Expensive Installations:

There is no need for expensive installation. The HeatTrak products are portable, designed to lie on top of existing surfaces. Place a HeatTrak mat over existing entranceways, stairs, loading docks, handicap ramps, rooftops, and many other surfaces to provide a clean and safe passageway for foot or wheelchair access.

Safer Walkways:

HeatTrak's heated mats are a better solution for slip prevention. The HeatTrak products continuously melt snow and ice keeping surfaces constantly clear and safe. In addition, the HeatTrak mats are designed with a continuous chevron pattern to provide extra traction.

The HeatTrak mats are a better alternative than calcium chloride. Salted entranceways lead to messy floors indoors as calcium chloride gets tracked inside by foot traffic. In addition, HeatTrak mats help preserve sidewalks, as calcium chloride will eat away at walkways over time.

The engineers at HeatTrak have taken great care to develop a durable, safe and effective snow and ice melting system. The HeatTrak products are made of an electrically operated heating element sandwiched between two protective surfaces of non-slip rubber, making them as durable as automobile tires and allowing them to endure harsh wear. The HeatTrak products plug directly into any standard 120V or 240V outlet using its own ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI).

Living in the mountains we get a bit of snow or ice every few days. We have many steps to our office and and front door (19 total) and both my husband and I have taken some falls on them. These treads and mats have been invaluable in ensuring that does not happen again. They are expensive so I just purchased four treads and one walk mat last year. They worked so well I got them for our offices this year. For really deep snows - over 12" - I turn them on end and use a shovel as usual - then put them back down. If you don't do that they ice up on the edges (again only with deep snows). I only gave four stars because one additional option is needed - a small mat made like the "walk" mat with connections on both sides. For me, I have steps that go up 4 treats - then a small landing and then more steps up again. The smal mats do not work here because they have only one connection and the larger "walk" mats are just too long. Great product - expensive - but worth the safety!
ProsWork great - make steps very safe!
ConsNeed smaller "walk" mat with two connections for stair landing.
